COUNCIL INFRASTRUCTURE

Council Infrastructure:-

Since there was no any infrastructure for the Council Secretariat and other allied infrastructure like residential hostel for the Councilors and residential accomdation for the Chief Executive Councilor and Executive Councilors,. Accordingly a proposal was submitted to the PM Office through the State Government requesting to provide Rs.40 Crores for thedevelopment iof the above infrastructure at Kargil as the project could not be included in the District Plan to paucity of funds.

The Government was kind enough to provide Rs. 40.00 Crores for the development of infrastructure for the LAHDC, Kargil under PM’s Reconstruction Plan. Accordingly a proposal was made to construct the infrastructure at Khurbathang plateau which is under the occupation of Army and was agreed to handover to Civil Administration for the purpose. However, the said funds could not be utilized due to non-vacation of the Khurbathang Plateau.

Now the District Administration in consultation with the LAHDC Kargil has decided to construct the Council Infrastructure on a patch of land carved from Agriculture Farm at Khurbathang and work on the following components of the Council infrastructure are in active progress.
